Sensor Antenna Types

Updated on

ATS sensors can have an internal antenna or require external antennas.  To determine which type of sensor you are working with perform a visual inspection.

The type of antenna, internal or external, does not change how the transmitter should be mounted, it should be placed in an area with the least obstruction and line of site to the gateway or repeater. External antennas should be orientated vertically towards the ceiling.

Internal Antenna

If the transmitter box does not have an RPSMA connector, it has an internal antenna.

External Antenna

If the transmitter box does not have an RPSMA connector, it has an internal antenna.  If there is an RPSMA connector it requires an external antenna be attached.

External antennas should be orientated vertically towards the ceiling.
